Brightcove Player 7.51.0 is available for manual update.

No existing players have been auto-updated to this version. Customers eager for a feature or fix that is only available in this version may manually update via the Studio Players JSON Editor or the Player Management API.

Features

• The seek bar's screen reader value now reads as spoken time, for example "2 minutes 21 seconds of 5 minutes 10 seconds", instead of the clock form "2:21 of 5:10". The visible time display and the seek tooltip are unchanged. Applies to both the default skin and Prism UI, in all player languages.
• While a video plays, the seek bar's screen reader value updates at most once every five seconds rather than every second, so an announcement can finish before the next one interrupts it. Any seek, the end of the video, a language change, or focusing the seek bar still updates it immediately.

Fixes

• [Chromecast] Fix an issue where the Chromecast button remained in the control bar as an empty, focusable control when no cast devices were on the network. The button now appears only once a cast device is found, and hides again if devices go away.
• [Chromecast] Fix an issue where the Chromecast button had no icon and no position under Prism UI. It now uses Google's cast icon, sized and coloured to match the other Prism UI controls, including the connecting and connected states.
• [Prism UI] Fix an issue where the volume slider ignored the progress bar colour configured in Studio. The volume fill and thumb now take the configured colour, matching the progress bar, as they already did on the default skin.
• [Prism UI] Fix an issue where the inner corners of the player frame ring rendered with a stepped edge on standard-resolution displays.
