No existing players have been auto-updated to this version. Customers eager for a feature or fix that is only available in this version may manually update via the Studio Players JSON Editor or the Player Management API.

Extended audio description

Videos that have an extended audio description version created in Video Cloud can now offer it to viewers directly in the player. In an extended audio description the video pauses while a longer description plays, so the described version is delivered as a separate, longer rendition of the video.

With the plugin enabled, the AD button lists the video's extended audio description versions in their own section of the audio descriptions menu, alongside any text descriptions and described audio tracks the video already carries. If an extended version is the only described content the video has, the AD button becomes a simple on/off toggle instead of opening a menu. Switching to a described version, or back to the original, starts playback from the beginning.

The plugin ships inside the player and has no options. Enable it by adding it to the plugins array in the player configuration and republishing:
