No existing players have been auto-updated to this version. Customers eager for a feature or fix that is only available in this version may manually update via the Studio Players JSON Editor or the Player Management API.

Features

• Add new Freewheel packaged plugin. This is a new plugin and explicit player configuration will be needed in order to start using the new plugin. Existing configurations using the legacy videojs-freewheel plugin will continue to function as before. Documentation for the new plugin, including configuration options is located here. Documentation for videojs-freewheel has been moved to Advertising with the Legacy FreeWheel Plugin

  • Notable changes from videojs-freewheel plugin:
    • A "Skip Ad" button will appear if a skippable ad is delivered by the ad server
    • Baseline AdManager SDK is v7.2.0 This supports Consent Management Platforms (CMPs) implementing the TCF v2 framework out of the box, with no plugin configuration required. CMPs implementing TCF v1 are no longer supported. More information in Freewheel's documentation (Freewheel Hub login required)
    • Fixed an issue where iOS Safari >= 18.0 would not play ads if crossorigin attribute is present.
